fullerton hills pet clinic
we're currently looking for a good local vet. we tried a couple already but weren't too happy with them because of poor customer service/follow-up (e.g., i called one vet in a frenzy after mila had an allergic reaction to a vaccine -- they never called me back. the other one had a really rude receptionist). it really sucks how poor clerical staff can hurt your business.
anyway, after reading reviews on Yelp (yes, i know you have to be careful on Yelp as well), we decided to try out fullerton hills pet clinic with dr. cho. i was able to called and make an appointment for the same day.
the clinic was in a large plaza by CVS and a bunch of other little shops. the waiting room was relatively clean. there were a few other clients in the waiting room with us. there were a lot of small dogs -- so asian. haha
the doctor was nice but not overly friendly, which is fine. he answered all of my questions. he didn't spend much time to chit chat but he got down to business to ask about mila and if there were any problems. the main reason for our visit was to get mila's 3-yr rabies vaccine. i really liked how the doctor administered the vaccine himself, and not a vet tech. no offense to any vet techs out there but i really like it when a doctor administers the vaccines himself because it shows that he takes the time to work on his clients even if it's a simple task. i also liked it because mila didn't cry or whine while getting vaccinated. i was quite surprised. (in the past, mila would even start whimpering even before the needle would hit her skin.) mila also got her anal glands expressed today because HOMEGIRL be stinky back there! anal gland expression ended up to be more expensive than the vaccine! $24 for ass squeezing vs. $21 for the rabies shot. i didn't know that but i didn't ask.
either way, mila and i had a good experience at the vet today. dr. cho also does emergency care, which means he's available 24hrs if necessary. looks like we might've found a home doctor. *crossing fingers*
mila is doing well after her vaccine. she had some ear tearing so i gave her doggy benadryl just in case.
